Familiengeschäfte in der Regie von Marius von Mayenburg hatte am 30. Januar 2016 Premiere im großen Haus des Schauspielhauses Bochum. In Kürze hat unser Merlin Premiere am Schauspielhaus Graz – ab 24. September 2015 ist es soweit! Der Herbst ist aber auch andernorts umtriebig: mehrere Produktionen, für die ich Musik machen durfte, kehren in die Spielpläne zurück. So läuft Stück Plastik wieder an der Schaubühne (5.-7. Oktober), Ich Bereue Nichts in Karlsruhe (ab 11. Oktober) und Small Town Boy am Gorki (30. Oktober)…
In wenigen Tagen geht es nach der Sommerpause weiter, der zweite Probenblock zu Merlin am Schauspielhaus Graz beginnt und so rückt die erste Premiere der Spielzeit 2015/16 näher. Am 24. September 2015 ist es soweit. Mehr dazu hier.

Maximilian Haslauer and Jonas Zieher created a mesmerizing handcrafted video for my track I Felt Weird from The Longest Year In History. While experimenting with moiré effects, Maximilian Haslauer and Jonas Zieher quickly discovered parallels with my musical work. Defined by Wikipedia as a “visually evident superimposed pattern created, for example, when two identical patterns on a flat or curved surface are overlaid while displaced or rotated a small amount from one another. (…) Moiré patterns are often an undesired artifact of images produced by various digital imaging and computer graphics techniques.” By manually moving printed patterns on transparent films the two designers consciously exploit this accidental effect. The footage was then edited digitally, retaining its organic feel to match the track’s sound. The result is a flickering audiovisual experience. Based in Stuttgart, South Germany, Maximilian Haslauer and Jonas Zieher study communcation design at the State Academy of Art and Design with a focus on image-making and illustration.
In winter 2014/15 i produced a nice deep track for the lovely voice of ANDRRA aka fatime kosumi. Her melody and lyrics are based on a piece of traditional albanian folk song about unwillingly being married to someone you don’t love. Together we turned this song into something dark and contemporary. You can stream it here.
Das neue Jahr hat begonnen und damit die Proben: 2015 startet mit zwei Theatermusiken… Die Ratten am Staatstheater Mainz (Regie: Jan-Christoph Gockel) hat am 27. Februar Premiere. Meine zweite Produktion des Jahres ist Stück Plastik von Marius von Mayenburg, Premiere Ende April an der Schaubühne in Berlin.
