Today saw the release of german music/audio/production magazine BEAT. Issue 12/09 containes a three page feature/interview about Telekaster and The Silent Anagram.

Stefan and me will perform a Telekaster set at Pop Sur La Ville Festival, Limoges on 14 october 2009.

Just a few days before we set out for our little french tour with stops in paris and limoges, another new piece of video art has been released. We produced this new film along the track A Shift In Shapes, which has been officially premiered yesterday, on the start page of french culture/art/music magazine MOUVEMENT. merci beaucoup, mouvement! check out the video cube!

We’re happy to announce SPEX.de hosts the official premiere of the new Telekaster video piece Where Diving Bells Are Ringing directed by Stefan Bünnig. Alongside the video SPEX set up a little lottery: if you take part you might win an LP copy of The Silent Anagram. All of this and more here.

The debut album by Matthias Grübel, who plays ‘various instruments, sounds and manipulation’, with the help of some others on violin, electric guitar, voice and ‘orchestra arrangements and other recordings’. Grübel has released before under the guise of Phon Noir on Sub Rosa, but for some reason changed to Telekaster. Its not easy to describe the album. Its all highly atmospheric music, that’s for sure. Not just in a drone sense of the word, because melodies play an important role here. The various instruments seem to me mainly guitars and a piano (perhaps a midi one), with an extensive use of sound effects to create a rich, thick sound, that is orchestral in ‘All That Is Solid Melts Into Noise’, drifting into a more introspective tune of ‘Where Diving Bells Are Ringing’. Post rock is perhaps a term to fits this, but its all without drums and its definitely not static. This music is in constant flux, always on the move. A great record actually. Very melodic, without becoming a pop record. More modern classical, I’d say. A very pleasant and varied album. Highlight of the week. (Vital Weekly, FdW)

Explosion! Schweizerhalle brennt! Der vergiftete Rhein nährt Killerpflanzen! Während wütende Basler Bürger noch tote Fische auf Chemiebosse werfen, sehen die die Katastrophe längst anders: Muss Kontamination schädlich sein? Bedeutet fremder Einfluss nicht vor allem Bereicherung (vgl. Hofmanns LSD)? Und: Bin ich kontaminiert, weil ich ab und zu von Schweizer- zu Hochdeutsch wechsle? 
Auch das B-Team, neu besetzt mit Deleuze/Guattari und den übrigen postmodernen Verdächtigen, rückt an, um an der Statik des europäischen Subjekts zu rütteln. Inmitten alldessen fließt, blutrot aber unbeeindruckt, der Rhein und trägt tote Fische und einigen diskursiven waste quer durch Europa. 
In „Tri Tri Tripli“ verschneiden wir Doku und Fiction; das Leben in der trinationalen Region, TV-Reporte von 1986, Killerpflanzen- und LSD-Filme kontaminieren einander, verdichtet zur Frage: Wie kann ich meine eigene Identität auch als fremde verstehen?
